Consul General of India Discusses Educational Collaboration with UBC President

India’s Consul General Masakui Rungsung met today with Dr. Benoit-Antoine Bacon, President and Vice-Chancellor of the University of British Columbia (UBC), to discuss potential areas of increased collaboration in research and higher education.

Consul General Rungsung emphasized the value of fostering educational efforts to deepen links between UBC and India during their meeting at the UBC President’s office. The topics of discussion included ways to strengthen the cultural relations between the institution and the consulate, as well as potential for collaborative research initiatives and academic exchanges.

“We see tremendous potential in expanding our collaboration with UBC,” remarked Consul General Rungsung. “This partnership aims to not only advance research agendas but also enrich cultural understanding between our nations.”

President Bacon praised the effort and highlighted UBC’s longstanding legacy of academic achievement as well as its dedication to global involvement. “UBC values international partnerships that contribute to our research capabilities and provide enriching experiences for our students and faculty,” stated President Bacon.

Following the talks, both parties committed to looking into particular areas of cooperation, such as technology transfer, cultural exchange initiatives, and sustainable development. Both parties expressed optimism about the prospects of deepening their relationship in the coming years.
