On 24 July 2024, Consul General Masakui Rungsung began his visit to Yukon with a courtesy call on Hon’ble Adeline Webber, Commissioner of Yukon. Their discussions centered on cultural cooperation and strengthening people-to-people connections.
The following day, on 25 July 2024, Consul General Rungsung had a fruitful meeting with Hon’ble Ranj Pillai, Premier of Yukon. Their conversations covered a range of topics, with a particular focus on enhancing collaboration in minerals, skill development, energy, and cultural exchange.
During his visit, Consul General Rungsung also went to the University of Yukon, where he met with Dr. Shelagh Rowles, Provost and Vice President. Dr. Rowles provided an overview of the university, and they explored potential partnerships between Indian universities and the University of Yukon, as well as discussed cultural cooperation and issues affecting Indian students.
Later that day, Consul General Rungsung met with Hon’ble John Streicker, Minister of Energy, Mines and Resources, Tourism, and Culture of Yukon. They addressed mutual interests, particularly in the fields of minerals, mining, energy, and tourism. Additionally, Consul General Rungsung visited the Gurdwara Akaljot Sahib in Whitehorse, where he engaged with the management committee members and interacted with the local community.
