Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Gujarat on Monday, accompanied by Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, to jointly inaugurate the TATA Aircraft Complex for C-295 aircraft manufacturing at the TATA Advanced Systems Limited (TASL) campus. This complex will produce 40 out of the total 56 aircraft in the C-295 programme, with 16 aircraft being directly delivered from Airbus in Spain. This facility marks India’s first private sector Final Assembly Line (FAL) for military aircraft, creating a comprehensive ecosystem for the manufacture, assembly, testing, qualification, delivery, and maintenance of the aircraft’s lifecycle. Alongside TATA, leading defense public sector units such as Bharat Electronics Ltd. and Bharat Dynamics Ltd., as well as various private Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises, will support this initiative.
