Tragic event at Sandhya Theatre: “Pushpa 2” star Allu Arjun arrives home after his appearance before Hyderabad police

Actor Allu Arjun has returned home after appearing at the Chikkadpally police station in Hyderabad in connection with the tragic Sandhya Theatre incident. The actor was summoned by the police to “cooperate” with the investigation. A notice from the Telangana Police stated that his presence was required to help clarify the details of the incident, and he might also need to visit the scene to ascertain the facts.

Security around Allu Arjun’s residence has been increased following protests demanding justice for the woman who lost her life in the incident. The tragedy occurred on December 4 when Allu Arjun attended the premiere of Pushpa 2: The Rule. A large crowd gathered to catch a glimpse of the actor, and things escalated when he waved to fans from the sunroof of his car. In the chaos, a woman named Revathi was killed, and her child, Sri Tej, was injured. Following the incident, Allu Arjun was briefly arrested and later released on bail after posting a Rs 50,000 bond.

Advocate Srinivas Reddy, involved in Allu Arjun’s quash petition, provided further details, confirming that they had filed a writ petition. Reddy criticized Allu Arjun, stating, “He attended the benefit show without permission, violating law and order. As a result, the woman lost her life, and her son is critically ill. Allu Arjun is the prime accused in this case.” He also demanded that the actor’s bail be canceled, advocating for his arrest and police custody for further interrogation.

Reddy also accused the actor’s bouncers of manhandling him during his visit to the Chikkadpally police station. He stated that he would file a police complaint against Allu Arjun for the incident. In a related development, Congress MLC Teenmar Mallanna filed a complaint at Medipally police station against Pushpa 2, calling for action against the film’s director, producers, and actors for insulting constitutional and police systems. Mallanna also requested the removal of certain scenes from the film.

On December 22, protesters demanding justice for Revathi attacked Allu Arjun’s residence, holding placards and shouting slogans. One protester climbed the compound wall and threw stones, prompting security to intervene. During the confrontation, flower pots were damaged, and security personnel were manhandled. Six individuals, claiming to be from the Osmania University Joint Action Committee (OU-JAC), were arrested but later granted bail.

Earlier, Allu Arjun’s father-in-law, Kancherla Chandrashekhar Reddy, was seen visiting the actor’s residence. The actor was also spotted leaving his home. In response to the incident, the producers of Pushpa 2, Naveen Yerneni and Ravi Shankar, presented a Rs 50 lakh cheque to Revathi’s family at KIMS Hospital, Hyderabad, with Telangana Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy in attendance. The incident has sparked political controversy, with Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy blaming Allu Arjun for the tragedy. Reddy claimed that the police had denied permission for any event at Sandhya Theatre due to safety concerns. Allu Arjun, however, dismissed the allegations, calling them an attempt to tarnish his reputation.
