The French Presidency confirmed on Thursday that India has been invited to the Artificial Intelligence Action Summit, with India being described as a “very important country.” During a press briefing about the summit, scheduled for February 10-11 next year, the French Presidency revealed that 90 countries, including India, would be participating. “We have invited India and are working closely with the country in preparation for the summit.
Misinformation and the misuse of AI are among the key topics to be addressed,” the French Presidency stated. “India is a very important country, particularly due to its potential to make a real impact on people’s lives. We look forward to India’s contributions to the summit’s discussions,” it added.
The summit, to be held at the Grand Palais in Paris, will bring together heads of state, government leaders, CEOs from both large and small companies, as well as representatives from academia, NGOs, artists, and civil society members. It will focus on five main themes: public interest AI, the future of work, innovation and culture, trust in AI, and global AI governance. The French Presidency also emphasized the importance of addressing issues related to disinformation and AI misuse, which will be central to the summit’s discussions.
On February 10, various stakeholders, including heads of state and government representatives, will participate in multiple sessions. That evening, French President Emmanuel Macron will host a formal dinner for heads of state and other VIPs. On February 11, the summit will feature a special leaders’ session exclusively for heads of state.
