In a tragic incident on Thursday, a terrorist attack targeted two military trucks in the Thanamandi area of the Rajouri sector, resulting in the loss of three Army personnel. As a response to this attack, security measures along the Jammu-Rajouri-Poonch highway have been heightened. An official statement revealed that militants ambushed two army vehicles transporting troops in Thanamandi, Rajouri, leading to the deaths of three soldiers and injuries to three others.

The incident occurred on December 21 at approximately 3:45 PM when terrorists opened fire on the convoy of army vehicles carrying troops to their operational destination. The Army swiftly retaliated to the attack. An ongoing operation in the DKG (Dera ki Gali) region, initiated since the evening of December 20, has been further reinforced following these terrorist attacks. The Indian Army, in response to the attacks, has been actively engaged in a combined operation against terrorists in the 48 Rashtriya Rifles area.

Army officials stated that the operation is still in progress, with efforts being made to gather more information. The counter-terrorism activities are part of the broader ongoing mission in the region, and additional measures are being taken to enhance the security situation.
